Work Update April 2017

Since I have a new site I thought it might be a good time to do something different. Assuming my scattered brain doesn’t get the better of me, I’m going to start to regularly make a post to talk about what I’m currently working on. So, for the first time, here goes…

Writing:

I’m currently writing a sci-fi novel tentatively titled Space Pickers. It’s an idea I thought of a couple of years ago as sort of a tribute to my late grandfather. It’s a book about antique collectors in space. Hoping to get it finished in the next month or so and turn my focus back toward the Moonshine Wizard Series.

I’m also suppose to be working on a novel I’m co-writing with my girlfriend is also a writer (An a more talented one that me), but I’m currently behind on it.

Editing:

I am currently re-editing the first Moonshine Wizard novel, then I’ll be editing the Moonshine Wizard short story collection, the 2nd Moonshine Wizard novel (Not yet released), and a few of the other old projects I put out early on, that today, I see as complete train wrecks (As far as Editing is concerned). I’m a long way from perfect still, but I’ve gotten a hell of a lot better at editing. So, I want to fix some of my old stuff.

I also have another new novel that is out being circulated among beta readers and I’m waiting for some edits to return.

Reading:

As always, I’m working on a number of books. Primarily, I’m reading Stella Gemmell’s the City right now. Her late husband, David Gemmell, is my all time favorite author, and when he died, Stella finished his trilogy and did a wonderful job. So, I was pretty excited to jump into that. I’m about ¾ of the way done.

I’m also working on the audiobook version of A Warrior’s Path by Davis Ashura. I’m about ¾ of the way done on it as well. It’s narrated by Nick Podehl, who is the reader for Patrick Rothfuss’s King Killer Chronicle audiobooks, and from the audiobooks I’ve done so far, Nick Podehl is my favorite book reader. So that’s what pulled me in with virtually no information on the book itself. Pretty good so far.

Outside of Writing:

I’ve been playing a lot of the new Mass Effect Andromeda. I’ve been a fan of the series (And pretty much everything else Bioware has created) since it came out. So, I’ve been pretty excited to get my hands on this new one. Apparently I’ve been playing a lot, because each time I log onto Multiplayer with one of my friends they comment about my 4,000+ Apex rating, which puts me in the top 3,000 – 4,000 players.

And, now that it’s spring and the sun is out, it’s come time to start working on building my dad’s house again. And we’ve jumped into it with both feet. This past weekend I thought I might be in for a quiet time of writing and video games, but unbeknownst to me, I was going to end up with a shovel in my hand digging trenches for water and electrical.

And here, for your amusement, is a Gif...
