My Full Disclosure Statement:

Before you read my review, I want you to know who I am. I’m a published author named Phillip Drayer Duncan. You can find out more about me, what I write, what I read, and more of my reviews at PhillipDrayerDuncan.Com. As a writer, I’ve had the opportunity to meet numerous artistic professionals at various levels and want to remain open about who I know before I review them…

In this case, I’ve never met Terry Pratchett

My 1 Sentence Synopsis:

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in a fantasy setting.

My 1 Sentence Review:

Seriously… Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in a fantasy setting.

Slightly Longer But Still Brief Synopsis:

A poor schmuck of a wizard named Rincewind thinks he can take advantage of a tourist named Twoflower, but ends up being his tour guide across the disc. No matter where they go or what they do, they can’t seem to avoid getting into trouble.

My Favorite Characters:

Twoflower’s luggage is my favorite character. Death is probably my second favorite character, followed closely by the little dude in the camera, and pretty much everyone else. Rincewind and Twoflower had excellent chemistry as the leading characters.

What Did I Love?
Everything. I LOL’d all over the place. I LOL’d in my chair. I LOL’d in my bed. I LOL’d in the bathroom. Pretty much everywhere I was reading, I LOL’d sumpin fierce. I’m not sure what I was expecting when I started, but I was thoroughly pleased from beginning to end.

What Didn’t I Love?

Nothing really sticks out. I really liked this book. The only thing I can think is that I was a little confused at the beginning trying to keep up with everything, but that was likely the result of me diving into fast and not paying enough attention. It quickly worked itself out.

In closing, if you’re looking for something different or humorous, I found this first installment to the Discworld series to be a quite refreshing read.

I saw that apparently they made a movie, or TV event, or something, where Sean Astin plays Twoflower. That's brilliant and I want to watch it!
